On the Farm

Moving To The Farm: Dad just couldn't seem to make ends meet with his small jobs. He said he had to do something better and try to make more money. He saw an ad in the newspaper: "Wanted - tenant farmer. Free housing provided with salary." Well, he called that number and talked to the landlord and agreed to move to the farm. That brings me to this next chapter in the book of my life.

We were tenant farmers on a 526-acre dairy farm. One of our many jobs was to milk about 50 cows. We were provided a two-story farm house, a small salary, and all of the milk we wanted to drink.
