First Date With Delores: I had my first date with Delores Jean Lee in the spring of 1966 (May, to be exact). Being the poor college boy that I was, I didn't have a car. For our first date, we had to walk from her dormitory down town to the movie theatre. And wouldn't you know it--it had to rain that night?? We dated off and on for the next couple of years. I say off and on because I was always gone during the summers, working as a door-to-door salesman. This is how I put myself through college. We were married on July 5, 1969. During our first three years of marriage, we lived in Horse Cave, Kentucky. Delores got a job as an elementary teacher. I preached for a small country church, Green's Chapel Church of Christ, and worked as bookkeeper for a farm supply store. We then moved to Pekin, Indiana, and spent six years in the Hoosier State.  It was here that our two children were born. We then moved to Paris, Kentucky, for six years and eventually moved back to our roots in Bowling Green after Christmas in 1982.
