Apple-Raisin French Bread Pudding |
Ingredients: 1 loaf (16 ounces) dry French bread, torn into bite-size pieces 1 1/2 cups chopped peeled baking apples (Rome Beauty or Golden Delicious) 1 cup raisins 4 eggs, beaten 1 cup milk 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract Directions: In a large mixing bowl, combine bread, apples and raisins and toss to mix. In a small bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla; pour over bread mixture. Let stand for 15-20 minutes or until mixture is absorbed, stirring occasionally. Spoon into a greased 8" x 12" baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm with White Grape Juice Sauce and/or vanilla ice cream. |
