Ingredients:

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup half-and-half cream

1/4 cup maple syrup

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

In a heavy saucepan, bring sugar, butter and half-and-half to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 more minutes. Cool; stir in maple syrup and vanilla. Pour over each serving piece of cake or pie while warm.
