Turtle Cake

Ingredients:

1 box (18.25 ounces) German chocolate cake mix

1 stick margarine

1 package (14 ounces) caramels

1 package (6 ounces )chocolate chips

1 can (7 ounces) condensed milk

6 ounces pecans, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake as directed on box. Pour one-half of mixture into a greased 13" x  9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Place butter, caramels and milk in top of double-boiler, stir until caramels are melted. Cool slightly, spread over baked cake. Spread remaining cake batter over caramel mixture. Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips. Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes more.
