Tasty Beef Pie

Ingredients for Beef Pie:

2 pounds ground beef

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons cooking oil

3/4 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

2 tablespoons chili powder

1/2 teaspoon oregano

3/4 cup diced green peppers

1 can (1 lb. 12 ozs.) whole tomatoes

1 can (1 lb.) whole kernel corn

1/2 cup cornmeal

1 1/2 cup pitted ripe olives

Ingredients for Cornmeal Crust:

2 cups biscuit mix

1/2 cup cornmeal

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup margarine

3/4 cup grated American cheese

2/3 cup milk

Directions for Cornmeal Crust:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine mix, cornmeal and salt. Cut in butter, stir in cheese. Add milk. Stir until moist. Pat into greased 2-quart casserole dish; flute edges and price with fork. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Directions for Beef Pie:

In a large skillet, brown beef with garlic powder and salt in cooking oil. Stir in onion and celery. Cook two minutes longer. Add chili powder, oregano, green pepper, undrained tomatoes and corn. Bring to a boil. Slowly stir in cornmeal, then olives. Cook slowly 5-10 minutes longer. Pour mixture into baked cornmeal crust. Slice and enjoy. Yields: 10 servings
