Spaghetti Caccitore

Ingredients:

1/2 cup olive oil

1 pound sweet Italian sausage, sliced

1 pound spicy Italian sausage, sliced

2 pounds lean stew meat, cubed

2 lean porks, cubed

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 onions, chopped

6 pods garlic, minced

2 cans (27 ounces each) tomato puree

3 cans water, using the puree can

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 teaspoons oregano

4 bay leaves

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper

Italian cheese, shredded for garnish

Directions:

In a large pot, brown the three meats in the olive oil. Take the meat out of the oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. In the remaining olive oil, fsaute the green pepper, onion, and garlic. Add puree, water, sugar, oregano, and bay leaves. Put the meat back in the skillet. Cook on low, covered with lid for 4-5 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. Cover spaghetti with sauce; garnish with a large helping of shredded cheese.
