Seashell Hot Dog Casserole |
Ingredients: 1 box (8 ozs.) medium shell macaroni 1 tablespoon butter 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 1 clove garlic, minced 1 package (16 ounces) all-beef hot dogs, halved lengthwise and then cut into pieces 1 1/2 cups purchased spaghetti sauce 1 large tomato, chopped (1 cup) 1 can (4 ozs.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained 1 carton (8 ozs.) sour cream 2 ounces (1/2 cup) prolone cheese, shredded 2 ounces (1/2 cup) mozzarella cheese, shredded Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside. Melt butter in a large skillet; add onion and garlic to skillet and cook over medium heat until nearly tender. Stir in hot dog pieces and cook until lightly browned. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato, and mushrooms. Bring to boiling. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream and half of the cheeses. Stir mixture into the drained macaroni. Spoon into a two-quart casserole dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until hot. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Bake, uncovered, for another 5 minutes or until cheese melts. |
