Score Bar Cookies

Ingredients:

2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

1 egg, beaten

2 cups milk chocolate chips, divided

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

1 package (8 ounces) toffee bits, divided

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using the butter wrapper, well grease a 9" x 13" baking dish. Note: the bars will stick if you don't grease it well.

In a large bowl, combine the flour and sugar; mix well. Cut in butter until mixture resembles course crumbs. Add egg and mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips.

Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Pour condensed milk evenly over hot crust and top with 1/2 of the toffee bits. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture and remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips on top. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining toffee bits. Go around the edges with a knife and then allow to cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
