Pecan Caramel Bars |
Ingredients: 2/3 cup margarine 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 28 caramels 1/4 cup margarine 1/4 cup water 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped pecans Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, beat margarine and 1/2 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour; mix well. Press onto bottom of 13" x 9" baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. In a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. In a medium saucepan, melt caramels with 1/4 cup margarine and water over low heat, stirring until smooth. Gradually add caramel to egg mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans. Pour over crust; continue baking for 15 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. |
