Good-on-Everything Syrup

Ingredients:

3 cups granulated sugar

1 1/2 cup buttermilk

1 cup butter

4 tablespoons white corn syrup

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions:

In a 6-quart saucepan, combine first five ingredients. Note: yes, you will need a large saucepan because it will boil over in small pans. Bring to a boil and boil for 7 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Note: This syrup is great on pancakes, waffles, vanilla ice cream, or pound cake. If syrup is left over, place in a container and put in refrigerator. The syrup will granulate, so reheat the syrup when you're ready to use the next time.
