French Toast Casserole

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons corn syrup

5 eggs

1 1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

12-14 bread slices

cinnamon to sprinkle on top

apple sauce

bacon

Directions:

Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup. Pour half of the mixture into a 9" x 13" casserole dish. Cover the baking dish with slices of bread. Pour remainder of syrup over the bread.

In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour this mixture over the bread.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Sprinkle each serving with a little cinnamon. Serve with apple sauce on the top and crisp bacon on the side.
