Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients for Muffins:

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs, at room temperature

1 cup (8 ounces) plain yogurt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Ingredients for Toppiing:

1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons chopped walnuts

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add yogurt and vanilla; mix well. Combine the flour, soda, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Spray muffin tins or use paper-lined muffin cups; fill only two-third full.

Combine the topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
