Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds round steak, cubed

1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper

2 tablespoons shortening

2 beef bullion cubes, dissolved in 1 1/2 cups boiling water

1 medium onion, chopped

2 bay leaves

2 small cans (4 ounces each) sliced mushrooms

1 carton (8 ounces) sour cream

Directions:

Dust meat in flour, salt and pepper. In a large skillet, brown the meat in the shortening. Add bullion mix, onions, bay leaves and mushrooms. Cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours. Just before serving, remove the bay leaves and then add sour cream. Do NOT boil. Serve over rice or noodles. Yields 6-8 servings.
