Banana Split Trifle |
Ingredients: 1 box of brownie mix 1 carton (16 ounces) Cool Whip or other whipped cream 8 chocolate graham crackers, crushed 1 large box (4.6 ounces) cook-and-serve banana pudding mix 3 cups milk 1 prepared angel food cake (14 ounces), torn into 1" pieces 3 bananas, peeled and sliced 2 cups sliced strawberries 1 package mini semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 bottle (7.25 ounces) chocolate fudge Magic Shell ice cream topping Directions: Bake brownies according to directions on box and let cool. Cut the brownies into 1" squares. Stir crushed chocolate graham crackers into carton of Cool Whip. Refrigerate until needed later. Stir the banana pudding into 3 cups of milk and place in saucepan. Cook according to directions on the box, bringing to a boil in order to thicken the pudding. Place the pudding in a glass bowl and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Place a little less than half of the angel food cake pieces in the bottom of a large mixing bowl or punch bowl. Top this with a little less than half of the brownie cubes. Add slices of one banana and less than half of the strawberries. Add less than 1/2 of the banana pudding. Cover pudding with less than half of the chocolate chips and dribble chocolate ice cream topping over this. Repeat these layers again (angel food cake, brownies, slices of 2 bananas, balance of strawberries, banana pudding, chocolate chips, and ice cream topping). Top this off with the refrigerated Cool Whip. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. |
