Baked Lima Beans

Ingredients:

1 pound dried lima beans

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 cup tomato ketchup

1 onion, chopped

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

3 teaspoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

1/2 pound bacon

Directions:

Wash and drain the beans. In a large saucepan, cover the beans with salt water and cook slowly for 45 minutes. Drain and cover again with hot water. Cook for another 45 minutes. (This method helps to keep the beans from popping their skins.)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, omitting the bacon. After stirring all ingredients together, add the cooked beans and stir again. Pour the mixture into a 13" x 9" baking dish. Lay strips of bacon across the top. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 1 hour, until the bacon is browned and the beans are bubbly.
