Baked Apples & Ice Cream

Ingredients:

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3 large baking apples (Macintosh or Rome Beauties)

1/4 cup golden raisins

3 tablespoons butter, divided into 6 pieces

1/3 cup water

3 cinnamon sticks

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut each apple in half, then core each half. Place the apples halves skin side down into 11" x 9" baking dish. Fill each apple with a few raisins, and equal amount of the cinnamon mixture and a small piece of butter. Pour 1/3 cup water into the bottom of the pan and place the cinnamon sticks in the pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the apples are tender. Cool slightly.

As a delicious dessert, serve with vanilla, caramel or cinnamon ice cream .
